Why is this vitamin C better than regular vitamin C serums?
Most vitamin C serums use L-Ascorbic Acid, which is water-soluble, unstable, and can oxidise quickly — turning orange and losing potency. This booster uses Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (Vitamin C Tetra), an oil-soluble form that is shelf-stable, penetrates three times deeper into the skin, and does not oxidise or cause the tingling associated with high-concentration L-Ascorbic Acid serums.
Can I use this if I’m already using a retinol product?
This booster contains Bio-Retinol from Bidens pilosa — not conventional retinol. It does not cause photosensitivity or the peeling associated with retinol, so it can be used morning and evening. If you are using a prescription retinoid, consult your dermatologist before combining.
Will this make my skin more sensitive to the sun?
Bio-Retinol does not cause the photosensitivity associated with conventional retinol. However, as with any brightening product, daily SPF use is strongly recommended to protect results and prevent further pigmentation.
Can I use this on active breakouts or acne-prone skin?
This is an oil-based booster. While the oils used (rosehip, sunflower, linseed) are generally considered non-comedogenic, those with acne-prone skin should patch test first. The vitamin C and bio-retinol may help with post-breakout marks and uneven tone over time.
